TEST OF CURRENTS INJECTED INTO THE PRIMARY CIRCUIT OF THE TA TO VERIFY GENERAL PROTECTION MEASURES
It is used to verify that the protection system, including the CTs (current transformers), is functioning correctly.
A current equal to the fault current set on the general protection is injected into the primary winding of the CTs.
The test verifies that the protection correctly reads the value and intervenes by opening the main switch. This is an additional test compared to normal calibration.
