TESTING THE INSULATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC STRINGS

The insulation test on photovoltaic strings is not used to locate a fault, but to check the integrity of the string cables and panels.

Connect the positive and negative terminals of the string to the instrument together with the ground cable. The instrument injects a voltage of 1500 V and returns the resistance value of the cable in ohms. This helps to locate the faulty string, but not the exact point of the fault.
